The Summit Hall: This expansive and elegant space is ideal for grand celebrations or concerts. A ticketed event gives the organizer the abilities to charge for entry prior to the day of the event or in some cases paying a higher entry cost at the door on the day of the event. These events are expected to be large scale attendance which is why the cost to rent the venue is more because staffing up for this event will be a higher cost. (see owners for special consideration and hours) The Summit Hall: Capable of hosting up to 400 guests, this expansive and elegant space is ideal for grand celebrations, concerts, corporate gatherings, and large-scale non-profit events. The Summit Hall is designed to provide a sophisticated atmosphere, ensuring that every occasion is memorable. Add $500 if event falls on a holiday
Cancellation Policy
Deposit and Contract Signing A deposit secures the event date and time. The contract must be signed within seven (7) days of the deposit. All deposits are non-refundable. To sign the contract, use the chat option (preferred) on our website at 1606 Cal's Place or email us at woody@calsplace.com to set up an appointment. Health & Safety No weapons are allowed on the premises. The renter is responsible for checking for weapons before allowing entry. All events must comply with local health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation standards. Security Service Certified security services are mandatory for events with more than 75 attendees or participants under 30 years old. The renter must provide a copy of the security company's current certification. Kitchen Equipment Usage The Chef/Caterer must hold a Safe Serve - Manager Certification and be present on-site to use kitchen equipment. A representative from Cal's Place will assist with any questions or issues. Others can use the kitchen for storing food and cleaning up. All food and beverages must be removed at the end of the event. Beverages No liquor will be sold without a liquor license from the state of Alabama. See the note below for obtaining a temporary liquor license. You may bring your own beverages, including liquor, but must obtain liability insurance if serving liquor. Note: The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board offers a Special Retail License for events lasting 30 days or less. Contact your local ABC Board office for specific details and guidance. Clean-up A $250 clean-up fee is required upon signing the contract. This fee will be returned if the facility is cleaned to the owner's satisfaction. The facility must be left in its original condition. Clean-up must be completed by 9 AM the next day if no event is scheduled; otherwise, by 7 AM. Event Insurance Liability insurance is required for events expecting 100 or more attendees. Liability insurance is also required for events serving liquor, with or without a license. Selling liquor without a state license is prohibited. Stolen Property or Damages Renters are responsible for any damage to the facility or property. This includes payments to contractors and replacement of equipment, TVs, or other property of Cal's Place. Facility Walkthrough To document the facility's condition, a walkthrough with the renter and a Cal’s Place representative will occur 2-3 hours before the event.
